I learned about the new Target Style Beauty Box launching a month ago on Twitter. So, I signed up, not really knowing what to expect but excited! I have mentioned before that I love getting monthly box subscriptions. The Target Style one is my third to try (Birchbox, Goodies). Side note: Does “monthly box” sound like a strange way to describe these? That’s what they are, but that sounds kind of odd to say sometimes. Maybe it’s just me 😉

I will definitely be trying the Sally Hanson Salon Effects nails, the razor and Effaclar Duo acne treatment lotion.

The BB Cream is “light” which means I can’t do anything with it 🙁 and I have several bottles of the Fekkai Glossing cream. One of which I believe came in the Birchbox. So, that product isn’t really exciting to me. The $3 off coupon will also come in handy for any in store purchases that I have to make at Target. For $5, I’d say it was worth it and I will continue receiving it for a few more months. The razor itself costs more than $5! Coincidentally, I just purchased a pack of Venus razors from Target a few weeks ago. For now, it looks like subscriptions are limited and closed, so when they open again, I will share an invitation!

Speaking of BB Cream, I’ve noticed lots of hype surrounding BB and CC Creams lately. I’ve seen a few setups in store at Target, Dillards and Macys. I never purchased the cream in store, but I always wondered, what is the hype around these creams?

Recently, I attended a Beauty Blogger event for AJ Crimson hosted by beauty blogger Makeup by Ren Ren in Atlanta. AJ Crimson is a celebrity makeup artist who has worked with Fergie, Letoya Luckett, Adrienne Baillon, Estelle and more. He came to Atlanta to launch his BB cream. One of the first things that I noticed about AJ’s products?

The wonderful range of colors! I found a perfect cream foundation match and BB cream too. I also appreciated how the colors did not have labels like “light, medium, tan, dark” they were numbers. I’m a number 4 in cream foundation and BB cream. That’s simple to remember! I purchased the BB+D cream. I regret not getting the cream foundation though.

Me with the BB+D Cream and Cream foundation

Oh, and I have been wearing my hair natural for summer. It’s perfect running hair, but I’m learning more as each week passes on styling and hair health. That week, I learned that my hair needed extra moisture! Thank you YouTube, and natural hair bloggers and stylists.

AJ Crimson and I. AJ was so nice! He greeted me right when I walked in the door and introduced himself.

For my next event, I will definitely be trying the BB+D cream! If you are interested in checking out AJ’s  BB+D Cream shop here.
