Hello 2014! We are just a few days into the new year. Over the last few days, I’ve been reading up on the trends for the year. Beauty trends, money trends, fashion, and the Pantone Color of the Year.
Trends, trends, trends. I made a list of the top marketing trends for the year based on all of the data I’ve been looking at over the last few weeks. Here are my top 5:
1. Vine will grow – Yep, I do believe that Vine will grow even more in 2014. I found my way back to Vine recently. There are so many talented people creating great content. I describe Vine to my friends as “the new In Living Color”. It’s fun, and easy to absorb on the go. Recently, Vine launched web profiles and a full TV mode. I registered my page here: https://vine.co/TheGreatDanaJ If you are a Vine user, or if you feel motivated to become one now follow me!
2. Instagram Changes – I can’t wait to see what Instagram ads are going to do. Hopefully, Instagram will open them up to all users in 2014. I like the urls on Instagram now that make it easier to shop photos. I also hope that the Instagram app becomes easier to search.
3. Pinterest – More people will join Pinterest. I also see a rise in sites like Keep. Anything that makes online shopping easier and faster will come out on top this year.
4. Facebook – Young kids will continue to leave Facebook for ask.fm, Snapchat and Tumblr. Too many parents are on Facebook, too much supervision. I’m not sure how or if Facebook can get them back either. Changes to the Facebook algorithm for what shows up in your Timeline will continue to change. Sucks, but that’s how it goes.
5. Blurred Lines – As social media continues to grow, I believe that the lines between PR/Social media/SEO will continue to be blurred. Working in any of those fields will mean that you will need to have a combination of skills to do your job successfully!
Did I miss any trends? What are your predictions for 2014?
Hey! I love your blog! beautiful colors and great content!
lol im new to vine… still trying to figure it out. Ive mainly posted my cat being stupid, as well as things for my beauty blog lol A 25lb catdog and make up… cant go wrong there! haha….
One site I thought I’d mention, is http://www.bellashoot.com. Its for beauty/lifestyle type of posts. Ive noticed that its getting more and more popular… I try to recommend it to bloggers who have any posts that relate to beauty/fashion/lifestyle.. I get a nice number of people coming to my blog from them. They also do a lot of awesome make up give aways lol ::bonus::
Anyhoot! You have a new follower =) im on bloglovin as well

Also, you are completely right about facebook. Not just for kids… but i personally hate it now bc of the privacy settings! Instead of FB keeping the privacy settings private, they did the opposite! everyone can see everything you've liked, commented on,etc.. I hate that! So, I am rarely on there anymore. I miss the old facebook lol when it first came out!
Hope all is well!
Heather Lynn
Hi Heather! Thanks for stopping by and for following
Bellashoot looks pretty cool. I’m telling you, there are some super creative people doing really cool things on Vine. Companies like Xerox and Verizon are also doing cool things.
I will look you up on Bloglovin’ I really like reading all of my favorite blogs that way. Much easier to follow them!
I’m so horrible about checking my “disqus”. I think it’s bc I’ve managed to create 3 accounts? (Probably 1 for each social media account that you can log into! Yikes!)
Now that it’s 8 months later… lol. You were pretty spot on about everything! Except possibly instagram (Which I could be wrong about) I get on there and share my picture or video then log off. I don’t explore much on there! One Vine account you should definitely check out is @AlexandAni! They’re so creative with their jewelry – but they express their creativity so well through social media!
