I’m always paying close attention to branding by companies and observing individuals who have a great brand. One of those I’ve been following lately is Sofia Vergara.

I first noticed Sofia while watching Modern Family. I discovered the show somewhere within the first season. With reruns, I was able to catch every episode. Instantly, I was a fan. One of the first few episodes that I saw was Coal Digger. If you haven’t seen it, I think it’s one of the best episodes of the season. Here are 4 reasons that I think Sofia has a great brand.
1. She maintains the same “look” – I have noticed that Sofia wears a certain type of outfit and has the same hairstyle. High heels and her hair is always flowing and down. It’s consistent.
There are loads of YouTube of her on late night shows. In most she always has a dress on and always wears the exact same hairstyle.
2. She doesn’t act oblivious about her body – I like how she is confident about her figure and she isn’t afraid to laugh at herself or point out her voluptuous figure. I think she uses it to her advantage by bringing it up in interviews and advertisements.
3. She’s honest – In her magazine interviews (like Self and Shape) she admits that working out is not her thing. I think that’s great since so many celebrities say that staying in shape is easy.
4. She’s funny – She can make a joke out of anything. Seriously. She’s great at being funny and candid. In many of her interviews and commercials, she pokes fun at the attention her figure gets. In her Kmart commercial and in award speeches too.
