A few weeks back, I read an article from Men’s Health Magazine about them partnering to bring turkey burgers to Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. I love reading Women’s Health Magazine and believe that both mags offer great information in print and online. I’m a huge fan of turkey burgers and I got excited seeing this news. Sometimes, I wish more places offered a drive thru turkey burger for when I’m on the go or in a hurry. This Saturday, I had the chance to taste one of their 3 burgers available. I picked the mushroom and swiss option.

Here’s what I thought: The burger (meat) didn’t really look like that. I think it was a frozen patty that they threw on the grill. Not sure, but it didn’t look like the photo. I did like the taste of the burger, the mushrooms and the whole wheat bun. I did not like the two slices of cheese. It was too much. I prefer my turkey burgers with pickles and lettuce which this burger didn’t have. I would have traded at least one slice of cheese if not both for those trimmings. So if I had to give the burger a score I’d say 7/10. I was pretty full after and didn’t get a side item to go with (I had salad at home). I think that next time I will try the plain turkey burger option instead since it has lettuce, tomato and pickles with no cheese.

Have you tried the Hardee’s turkey burgers?
