Whirlwind of things happening as the year wraps up! I saw my first champagne saber last week and had my first glass of Grande Cuvee last week with my friend Maxine.

This was last Thursday night. So, when I woke up Friday morning I was shocked to see that Beyonce released an album overnight. A new album AND videos for each song.

Only Beyonce could pull that off

Here we are a week later and the album debuted at no. 1 and has sold over one million copies. I am not a Beyonce STAN, but Beyonce is the only singer that I have ever purchased every single album for. Yes, I do still buy all of the music I listen to on my devices. I stream from Spotify on my computer. But when in the car and on my phone, I purchase the songs I like to listen to over and over. I usually purchase the singles that I like off of iTunes, mp3 downloads on Amazon, or I purchase entire CDs when they are $10 or less ;). Coincidentally, I purchased every Beyonce CD that I’ve ever bought except one (B-day which I got at Wal-Mart for $5) at Target. They have decided not to sell her latest CD. I didn’t hesitate to purchase this one. What a different marketing strategy to do no promo single, no video, no individual singles for sale. No word at all. Part of me felt a bit locked in to purchasing the entire album. Manipulation or good marketing? Or was it my confidence based on previous experience that the product would be worth it? I think it was some combination of all 3 of those. After a few listens I learned:

1. She’s empowered by her love for her family. It makes her better. She’s way more confident because of them.

2. She’s just like all of us, only on a quest to be the best Beyonce there is.

3. Haters do not get her energy. They fuel her fire.

4. She’s saying, “I’m beautiful, I love my man, I work hard and I’m going to keep doing it.”

5. She loves her body, because she talks confidently about it in most of the songs.

This album was much more revealing than her previous ones. I love the CD, I love the strategy. We all have to evolve. To improve, be empowered and grow. That’s what this CD represents! Great timing for it to come out right at the close of the year. I have two days of work left before holiday break. This week, I’m really trying to focus on 2014 goals for our marketing strategies at work and it’s difficult and overwhelming, but the results will be so worth it! I feel like I’ve been re-winding my year and thinking about a plan for the next 12-24 months. Have you been doing the same thing? Here’s a really great quote from a video that Beyonce recently released talking about her song ***Flawless. I think it’s something that each of us can relate to:
