Last Thursday night I attended a ScoutMob Revel Party at the new Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Ponce City Market! I invited my friend Maxine.

Don’t they have the cutest logo? (via)

Last year, I had the pleasure of trying Dancing Goats Coffee and other brews from Batdorf & Bronson. During a 101 Atlanta Culinary Tour, I learned about the art of making coffee from Jason Dominy. He has a major passion for coffee. To be honest, I never really knew the art of coffee making until the tour. He taught me that Starbucks coffee is burnt. That’s the reason it smells so unappealing 🙂 Batdorf & Bronson coffee has a wonderful aroma. Even if you aren’t a regular coffee drinker (like me) you can’t help but be enamored by the smell and feel compelled to take a sip. The smell wakes up your senses. During the event we tasted Collabrewation. Collabrewation is a team effort between Batdorf & Bronson and St. Louis’ Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Company. The blend features two coffees from Guatemala roasted separate and blended 50/50. Here are more details. I had mine black and it tasted great.

In addition to coffee, Maxine and I tasted beer ice cream from Frozen Pints.

My favorites were Vanilla Bock and Peach Lambic. After the taste tests, a group of attendees toured the Ponce City Market and learned history. The building used to be home of Sears then the building was City Hall East. We took a hard hat tour:

The Ponce City Market will open in 2014 with retail, condos and apartments, bike valet, gardens and restaurants. The concept sounds like a great idea right along the Atlanta Beltline. I can’t wait to see the finished results. Dancing Goats opened this past Friday! The shop is perfect for a Saturday morning cup of coffee and relaxation.
