Last week, I blogged about celebrities on the web. This week a new celebrity joined those ranks with the launch of thebeautydepartment.com from Lauren Conrad, along with her makeup artist and hair stylist Nadine Ess and Amy Nadine. Lauren Conrad has been extremely active this week as guest editor of the Allure Magazine Facebook page. Lauren happens to be the cover girl of the May Allure magazine.

In addition to having a large following of her own on Facebook (over 200,000) and the partnership with Allure (who have a over 60,000 likes) will help their page grow. She casually mentioned the launch of her new website, and of course it word quickly spread. A very strategic move to build buzz.
I like the design and header of the website. And the logo image that they are using looks fun and youthful. Two words that definitely define her target market:
With the large number of people who love and miss The Hills, and the high number of blogs devoted to beauty, makeup and fashion, I’d say that this is a great move for Lauren Conrad to continue building her brand.
